Beautiful photographs of butterflies peppered with butterfly poems. All butterflies were presented at a same size square, looking very artistic as butterflies are. However, I couldn’t help but wonder if they were really the same size in real life. Which I know they are not. Hence the missing last star.

I love the photographic work of Harold Feinstein. I use his books with my preschool students, who pour over the photographs, making observations and asking questions that might not arise if they couldn't view Feinstein's specimens in isolation of their natural contexts. This text is a fantastic addition to my classroom library and I love that each image includes information on each image's common and scientific names, as well as their region of origin.
