Fast read, with some interesting bits beyond the mystery itself. Probably good for young teen boys who are reluctant readers and don't want fantasy adventure. I enjoyed, too, and I am not a mystery/ thriller reader, much less a young teen boy. I'll consider more by the author.

Jere saw something from his bedroom when he was very young. He still dreams about it. He sees the face of a man standing over a young woman lying on the ground. He feels if he can just find out what happened, he'll stop having the nightmares. So, he and Avery head for the zoo and, playing a hunch, Jere comes face to face with the man in his nightmare, Al Watkins. He goes to the police and convinces them to reopen a 10-year-old unsolved murder. And suddenly, Jere and Avery are being pursued, hear [...]

I Dream of MurderGenre: MysteryGrades: 5-7This a great mystery for upper elementary and middle school students. The book is the story of a high school freshman named Jere who goes to the zoo with his girlfriend and runs into a bird keep that he swears he knows from somewhere. After several odd conversations with the mystery man Jere tells his parents about the weird man and about the disturbing dreams he is having. Jere’s parents then tell him that his dream sounds like a murder that happened [...]

Jere Robinson is a normal kid. He and his friend Avery like to hang out at the zoo a lot. One day Jere sees a man working at the zoo, and for the next week he dreams the same dream: of this same man murdering a woman outside his window. Then Avery sees the same man walking outside her apartment building. Who is this man? And did he really murder someone?I liked the end half of this book better than the beginning, because in truth it started out pretty slow. It is a good book, with some nice susp [...]

I chose to read this book because the cover picture interested me. In this book, my favorite part is when Jere and Avery are in the basement and the cops come and arrest the murderer. I can relate this story to sometimes when I can't fall asleep. I lay awake in bed because I have a uncomfortable moment that keeps replaying in my head. When Jere was describing to his friends and family how he felt, I could imagine me having the dream. My words of advice for anyone who reads this book is that it i [...]

I liked this book because it was a good mystery. It kept me guessing until the end. It's about a boy and a girl who hang out a lot. The boy, Wallace, starts having a bad dream over and over. When he tells his parents about the dream, they tell him that there was a murder close to their house ten years ago and maybe he saw it from his window and this is what is causing the bad dream. The story goes on from there. In the end, the murder is solved. Reading this book makes me want to read more by th [...]

Better than I expected, but still kind of meh. I appreciated that there was no sex or swearing (though there was one sexual innuendo), but I didn't like the whole smoking underage thing. I guess I just wanted more from the book, especially after all the drama.

    8. Kitty says:

I should probably reread this because it has been so long, but in middle school this was my favorite book. I have always loved a good mystery.
