Charlotte Hubbard/Naomi King Does It Again!I thoroughly enjoyed the two Novella’s in this book. The characters were entertaining and just delightful. The Christmas Visitors brought many smiles to my face with the antics of twin sisters Martha and Mary Coblentz. They sure turned the heads of brothers Nate and Bram Kanagy! But, did Martha and Mary go too far with one of their pranks? What did they do to make Nate leave in a huff?Kissing The Bishop returns us to Willow Ridge where we pick up on t [...]

Have I mentioned that Charlotte Hubbard/Naomi King is my favorite Amish author? If you haven't heard me say it before, this book just clinched it! While I do prefer her full-length books, this was such a clever idea to combine characters from her two series, and what could be better than a Christmas setting? I was enchanted, enraptured, and I found myself saying, "If only it worked like that in real life" (and I guess it sometimes does). These two stories will make you believe in the spirit of r [...]

These short stories did not measure up with the quality of the rest of the Sweet Seasons series. There was very little character development in these and, in my opinion, far too much discussion and description of the physical relationships. These Amish characters were talking about sex after knowing each other for a few days when I didn't feel like they actually knew each other at all. I found it pretty awkward. I was disappointed with both of these stories and was happy to be done with the book [...]

Introduced to new characters - now I have another series to start reading!

    5. Shelley Alongi says:

And they all lived happily ever after.

"An Amish Country Christmas by best selling author Charlotte Hubbard who also goes by the pen name, Naomi King was asked to write a novel based on the characters from both of her Amish series where they get to mix and mingle, this is the result of that collaboration. The reader is bound to get a true gift when they can enjoy their favorite characters from both Willow Ridge and Cedar Creek together for the Christmas Season. With the fact that Charlotte (Naomi) have a book in each of her series al [...]

I received a complimentary copy of this book as a part of a book tour in exchange for a fair and honest review. I rated 5 out of 5 Stars.Reminding us of a simpler way of life and the true meaning of the holidays, Charlotte Hubbard’s An Amish Country Christmas was a joy to read. Two light hearted romances, well developed characters and good dialogue kept me turning the pages to discover what would happen to the four couples involved. While a part of the Seasons of the Heart series (due to being [...]

"Amish Country Christmas" by Charlotte Hubbard/Naomi King contains to Amish inspirational romances that is sure to put the reader in the holiday mood. The first story is "Christmas Visitors." Martha and Mary Coblentz are identical twins who are turning eighteen on Christmas. When Martha meets Nate and Bram Kanagy who are in town purchasing a new buggy and sled she can't wait to call her sister Mary. The two girls catch the Kanagy boys eye but when the girls play a trick on the Kanagy's things ta [...]

An Amish Country Christmas is the second book by Charlotte Hubbard that I've read. I was a little nervous to pick it up because I LOVED the last one so much I was worried I wouldn't be as invested in the characters as I'd been before. The worry was unfounded.I loved Martha and Mary Coblentz. And I have to admit, I think I got them mixed up just as much as Nate and Bram did. They were mischievous and considered trouble makers by the community they lived in, but that didn't stop Bram and Nate from [...]

The Christmas VisitorsNate and Bram Kenagy get more than they bargained for when they go to pick up their new carriages on Christmas Eve. The boys soon meet the Coblentz twins, Mary and Martha, and strike up an instant friendship. Thinking to make some holiday mischief, the identical twins swap places just to see the sparks fly.The girls' trick leaves the boys with cold feet. It will take some warm holiday goodwill to put things back on track. As the four Amish youngsters begin to share their ho [...]

Today I’m reviewing An Amish County Christmas, which includes special Christmas stories to follow Amanda Weds a Good Man (One Big Happy Family series) by Naomi King – and Winter of Wishes (Seasons Of The Heart series) by Charlotte Hubbard. An Amish Country Christmas includes The Christmas Visitors by Naomi King — and Kissing the Bishop by Charlotte Hubbard. These 2 novellas create a wonderful bridge between the Cedar Creek and Willow Ridge communities.Have I mentioned that Charlotte Hubbard [...]

This is a bonus book with two in one. The first story is called The Christmas Visitors, and involves a set of twin Amish woman, Martha and Mary Coblentz, and a set of brothers Nate and Bram Kanagy. The couples have a chance meeting when the boys arrive in Cedar Creek to pick up their buggy and sleigh. This is a tale, that will make you smile, with the antics that only twins can produce. Will there be budding romance here, but between whom? These young people belong to strong Amish families, who [...]

    14. Cheryl Malandrinos says:

While in most ways this book featuring two crossover short stories remains true to the Amish fiction genre, I also feel the author took a bit of a risk with the content. The physical attraction of these characters to each other plays a more significant role than one may be used to seeing. It is handled within the confines of the genre and not offensive in any way, but it caught me off guard. That said, they are spectacular stories; true displays of what faith, patience, and love can mean to peop [...]

AN AMISH COUNTRY CHRISTMAS by Charlotte Hubbard and Naomi King is a gripping Inspirational Amish Romance set in modern day Willow Ridge, Missouri. Two gripping stories of love, peace and faith written by two wonderful authors, both of whom are great storytellers. Oh yeah, it has recipes at the end of the book. Wonderful, mouthing watering recipes,I might add!Now back to the stories. In "The Christmas Visitors" by Naomi King, twins Mary and Martha Coblentz have unexpected visitors, brothers, Nate [...]

    16. Jasmyn says:

I normally enjoy inspirational and Amish romances. They are a step away from what I generally read, and the sweet aspect of it all is just a lot of fun. These two however, fell very flat. They were so sweet that it gave me a stomachache and much of the time I felt like I was reading a parody of their behavior and way of speaking. It was just way too over the top for me.In Twins for Christmas two brothers fall in love (at first sight) with twin sisters. This seemed a bit fast and a little ridicul [...]

    17. Book Him Danno says:

I loved the second story in this book. The 1st story was cute about young romance, but the second story was about older romance and had much deeper feelings. This authors writing is enjoyable to read, the stories are sweet and fast paced. I would recommend this authors work to anyone who enjoys stories of families, love, and life. With Christmas fast approaching this book is a great way to feel the spirit of the season. I do love the fact that even after year and years of life it is possible to [...]

This is actually book 3.5 in the series, but I didn't read it until after book 4 - because I didn't realize this came before book 4. Although my not reading it prior to reading book 4 wasn't an issue, this book does fill in some questions I had regarding mentions of "new" characters in book 4. Also, the characters introduced in this book are from another Amish community, a couple hours away from Willow Ridge. I enjoyed getting to know these new characters - and getting ready to read the series a [...]

    20. Brenda says:

I usually love Amish fiction, but I could not get into this book. I like my Amish women demur not outright boy crazy, the use of cell phones (even though I guess the girls were in their rumspringa)and they way the twins talked, was very "valley girl" and not at all Amishre some Amish words were thrown in from time to time, but that seemed to be forcedI have a few more books by Charlotte Hubbard and her alias Naomi King, and will give them a fair chance, but I am praying she doesn't write "valley [...]

    21. Kate says:

Most often, the characters portrayed in Amish novels are more quiet and serious than not (and there's nothing wrong with that! I assume the culture is such that that particular demeanor is most common). This set of novellas portrayed Amish characters that were loud and happy-go-lucky, and it was fun to see a lighter side of Amish life. Even the Bishop of the district got in on the fun (though in a way befitting his calling in the community)! I honestly enjoyed these stories more than I thought I [...]

    22. Rachel says:

This is a combination of two short stories that combine the characters of two of Hubbard's separate Amish series. Since I was only familiar with the Willow Grove series, I enjoyed getting to know the characters in the other area. Both stories were interesting, although I pretty much "called" the endings early on. Fun, frivolous writing that kept my attention while recuperating from a lingering injury. The book includes nearly 20 cookie recipes, many of which I made with my girls immediately. The [...]

Two Christmas stories by the same author under two names. When twins change dates with brothers will the men notice? When the ruse is discovered will hurt feelings cause the end of any relationships? When widowed Bishop Tom has other Bishops to his home to discuss church business he asks the Hooley spinster sisters to prepare and host the meals for the day. When the weather changes and the women are stranded at his home what will the community think? Quick light reads.

    24. Peggy Clayton says:

This is 1 paperback with 2 stories in it the first being The Christmas Visitors this was a cute story about twins that meet up with 2 boys and wow from there it is a whirlwind romance with some cute pranks pulled. The second book Kissing the Bishop is a book that one can really say from the 2 sisters involved that food is the way to a mans heart, These 2 women who love scrabble are a bit sexy and the way they cook could cure anyone. They are the Amish of Julia Childs.

    25. Sarah Adamson says:

The second book in the Promise Lodge series. The original inhabitants of Promise Lodge welcome their thriving businesses and more hands on deck to help out. However disaster strikes one day and we see how these individuals cope with much harsher challenges, the penalties of breaking old Amish order laws and the loss of good health. An enjoyable story.

    26. Kati says:

This book made me chuckle it was probably the "raciest" Amish book I've ever read (nothing explicit just talk about racier subjects that one doesn't usually read about in an Amish book ) I think the story line of this book was even more unbelievable in parts than the last, but it was still a nice story.

    27. April Suter says:
