Clear, concise, helpful! I've interviewed Nancy for WOW! Women on Writing, but this is the first book of hers that I've read. It's an amazing, straightforward guide. I'm going to use it when I write a non-fiction book idea I've been kicking around for 3 years.

    2. Kendrea says:

Practical advice without the fluff plus plenty of resources to get the job done from start to finish.

    3. Saba says:

Overall, this book provided lots of useful information. And even though this book is geared towards current or aspiring writers, some of the tips presented can be implemented for general writing tasks. For example, when writing this review, I followed the author's guidelines by forming an outline, engaging in uninterrupted writing without indulging in constant editing tendencies, and then polishing towards the very end. I like how the author provided several recommendations in so many different [...]

Book Review originally published here: iheartreading/reviews/How to Write for Kindle: a Non-Fiction Book in 72 Hours or Less offers a lot of pratical advice, not so much about writing in general, but more about writing short books for the Kindle market. I’ve been wanting to write a few non-fiction quicklets for a while, so when I saw this book free for download, it was a definite blessing in disguise. The book starts by telling you how to outline (which is basically like the road map for your b [...]

Although I've written several books for Kindle already, I'm always interested in learning new tips and tricks for creating better books. Nancy's book offers lots of excellent, practical advice for non-fiction writers looking to amp up their production schedule - in addition to writing stronger books that will keep readers coming back for more.Nancy's book is a quick read, because it's eliminated the fluff and cut straight to the chase. She includes step-by-step information on the tools of the tr [...]

I read a newer version of this book, How to Write & Sell Non-Fiction Books for Kindle: 5-Step Blueprint to Quickly Write & Publish Your Book in 72 Hours or Less. It was not quite what I was looking for as it focuses more on a research-based book (or a book based on interviews, etc. and not your own expertise). Also, I can't help but think 72 hours is way too short for writing a book unless you are a full-time freelance writer, but I digress. The book is broken up into a section outlining [...]

I received a free digital copy from storycartel in exchange for a review. This book is geared for nonfiction writers. Even though I am mainly a fiction writer, I got some value from this book. The resources about research, distraction-free tools, and formatting help were useful, but the strategy on fast-quality writing was too basic. The book did not focus on grammar, but I appreciated the grammar rule about participle phrases.I loved the suggestions on how to obtain book reviews. The author also [...]

    8. Rich Meyer says:

I received a free copy of this book from Story Cartel in exchange for an honest review. While there are a few interesting tips in this book on writing non-fiction books for Kindles, there's really not a lot of things we haven't seen in a dozen other books. To separate a 72-hour book from a "quick and dirty" one is patently ludicrous. There's no difference, and there's not nearly enough emphasis on putting out a quality, non-plagiarized product. The author does at least stress a need for research, [...]

I was leery of a book with “A Non-Fiction Book in 72-Hours or Less” in its title; however, with 71 reviews and a five star rating, it had to be a good book. Right?I love the highlighting feature on my kindle. I can judge the usefulness of a book to me personally by the amount of highlighting I did. This book wasn’t very useful to me. It does provide basic information that may be useful to beginning writers who want to publish for the Kindle.
