      Moore describes the history of amphetamines and their controversies, from methamphetamine's creation in a Japanese laboratory in 1898 to present-day debates about the role of stimulants in behavior modification. The text definitely prioritizes breadth of information over depth, but the upside is that I now know how amphetamines work, what they do, how they became popular in America, and why some are illegal and some are given to schoolchildren.I'm not sure how balanced the author's opinions are, [...]
